Description
RISD press was a student newspaper published weekly in the early 1970s, a self-described attempt at consolidating all the information outlets of the school, including the previous student newspaper, Montage. The issue of May 24, 1977 is a special issue reporting on ongoing problems with the RISD administration, including the controversial replacement of the Architecture division chairman, student protests in form of filing leaves of absence from RISD, a lawsuit brought against RISD by Architecture students, a controversial reprt from RISD Provost Jack Stewart title "How to Bring RISD, Kicking and Screaming, into the 20th Century," and statements of discontent from faculty and students.
