Description
RISD press was a student newspaper published weekly in the early 1970s, a self-described attempt at consolidating all the information outlets of the school, including the previous student newspaper, Montage. The issue of November 18, 1977 includes articles on a Student Board meeting, the opening of a new building on North Main Street, a Georgia O'Keeffe documentary, the Nads, new RISD Board of Trustees members, an exhibition by Preston McClanahan's class involving a lot of balloons, a Woods-Gerry exhibition of RISD sophomore drawings over the last 50 years, and a contest to design a new emblem for the Department of Environmental Management, along with an interview of Murray Danforth, a scathing review of "Star Wars," Doug Allen's "Steven" comic strip, event notices, and other announcements.
