Description

RISD press was a student newspaper published weekly in the early 1970s, a self-described attempt at consolidating all the information outlets of the school, including the previous student newspaper, Montage. The issue of November 11, 1977 issue includes articles on editorial practices at RISD Press, a Student Board meeting, an independent study of non-academic services offered by departments at RISD, a successful student meeting with RISD President Lee Hall on the matter of course evaluations, a recent speech by Lee Hall, a new RISD affiliation with the National Education Association, Wintersession, Rhode Island grants and legislation related to the arts, Nature Lab updates, a RISD student carving pumpkins for local television, tourism, a review of Werner Herzog's film "Stroszek," an evangelical Christian performance "Joshua," and a local tour by US Congressman Edward P. Beard, along with Doug Allen's comic Steven "Goes to School," event notices, and other announcements.
