Description
RISD press was a student newspaper published weekly in the early 1970s, a self-described attempt at consolidating all the information outlets of the school, including the previous student newspaper, Montage. The issue of March 3, 1978 includes articles on the President's Parents Council, Market Square, an address that was never delivered at the last student convocation, a French illustrated books exhibit at Providence Public Library, Carr House, a Wintersession stunt around Market Square, a Lucas Samaras show at Pace Gallery in New York, an Elvis Costello concert, Punk Night at the RISD Tap, a Student Board meeting, a presentation by RISD alum and acting Provost of RISD Bruce Helander, RISD student Paul Stumpf, and a poetry reading series sponsored by the English department, along with a comic by Art Wood, event notices, and other announcements.
