Wilbur Yoder, Architecture Professor Emeritus, received a B.S. in Architecture from RISD in 1962 and an M.S. from the University of Illinois in 1963. He returned to RISD in 1964 to teach in the Architecture department. In this interview, Wil discusses his career with former Architecture student and colleague Jim Barnes.

Biographical/Historical Note
Wilbur Yoder, professor emeritus in Architecture at the Rhode Island Schohol of Design, received a BS in Architecture from RISD in 1962 and an MS from the University of Illinois in 1963. He returned to RISD in 1964 to teach in the Architecture department until his retirement in 2014. Yoder is an architect and structural engineer who has worked on sites throughout Rhode Island, including the Trinity Church in Newport, the Roger Williams Park Zoo, and Davol Square in Providence.
In this interview, Yoder discusses his career with former Architecture student and colleague Jim Barnes on June 13, 2013. Jim Barnes received his BArch from RISD in 1969 and completed graduate work at Montana State University, where he began his teaching career. As an active architect, Banres has worked on award-winning projects including an addition to the First Unitarian Church of Providence and the former headquarters for ITEM New Product Development, now home to RISD’s Industrial Design department.
