Spectrum was a publication released in the early 1950s until the late 1960s by the undergraduate students at Rhode Island College of Design. Throughout the 50s, the publication served as a literary and art journal, with essays, student artwork, and advertisements from local businesses. By the 60s, Spectrum embraced a portfolio format, with a loose assemblage of primarily visual art produced by RISD students included in each issue.
