The RISD Rag was a student publication released in the spring of 1972, first on a monthly basis and later on a bi-weekly basis. Its topics included local and institutional news, politics, other topics concerning the students of RISD, and a calendar of events.     The RISD Rag was a student publication released in the spring of 1972, first on a monthly basis and later on a bi-weekly basis. The issue of May 1, 1972 includes articles on a faculty conference on the educational objectives of RISD, a proposal for a RISD "index," complaints about the RISD Museum, international study, a hotline for women who have been assaulted, a Board of Trustees meeting, student activism in Washington DC, and cholera fears in Bangladesh. It also features a review of a student theater performance of "Vatzlav" and a comic on life at RISD title "Why Not Call It Quits?" by Steve Waugh.

The issue of April 1, 1972 includes articles on the organization VISTA recruiting architecture students to their programs, a new RISD drive to repair damage in Vietnam following the US withdrawal, class pre-registration, the distribution of student activity funds, a push to involve RISD students in a natural food co-op, Earth Day, RISD students exhibiting at the Smithsonian, apathy at RISD, and an advertisement for students to sell their wares at The Village Crafts Shop in Lincoln, Rhode Island.

    The RISD Rag was a student publication released in the spring of 1972, first on a monthly basis and later on a bi-weekly basis. The issue of March 23, 1972 included an article with photographs about RISD students who traveled to Mexico for Wintersession. Also there was a reply from Dean Donald Lay about RISD improvements to a letter from a RISD student. A small article about organic food stores in Providence was also included. Poems, letter to the editor including one about renovating Carr Haus and events for RISD students also were included.

The issue of February 1972 featured an article about proposals and challenges of a summer mobile art show. Also included was an article about open student government at RISD. State-wide recycling information, Take-a-Break festival schedule, photos, drawings and a review of shows at the Woods-Gerry gallery were also mentioned.

    The RISD Rag was a student publication released in the spring of 1972, first on a monthly basis and later on a bi-weekly basis. The issue of January 1972 included an article about the local food co-ops, and the lack of diversity in the RISD faculty and at the RISD Museum. Support was wanted for farm workers and there was an appeal for a sick child. Voter registration information was listed for each state and parking ticket information for Providence was provided. Recipes, an art exhibit review, the Franklin Mint Bicentennial Medal Design contest and comics were also in this issue.
