Mixed Media began as the student publication Your Name Here. The November 27, 2001 issue includes articles on Student Alliance updates, the end of programming at Carr House, community service opportunities at RISD, RISD life models, RISD Works, the drummer of band Live Jazz, a man who arranges rocks on Thayer Street, some RISD departments forcing students to buy laptops, and music and film reviews, along with the comics "Captain Obvious" and "Salsa! by Andrew Kaiko, event notices, and other announcements.
