Mixed Media began as the student publication Your Name Here. The May 2, 2000 issue is the "comic issue" and includes student illustrations and comics, comic panels from published comics, an advice column, an interview with comic book artist Dave DeVries, a sausage-making recipe and experience, an article on bondage fairies in comics, a "giant manifesto" and interview with Shepard Fairey about his time at RISD, an expanded Cabaret performance of "Aha!" at AS220, a review of High Fidelity, letters to the editors, event notices, and other announcements.
