Mixed Media began as the student publication Your Name Here. The April 15, 1999 issue starts with a letter to the editor about the final "obituary" column of the past issue and editor's response to the letter, and includes articles on the new sponsors of some of the departments, a Soul Coughing concert and other music-related items, the RISD ten year plan, the senior illustration show, along with the comics "You Know You're at RISD When:.." by dianeleeper, "Die" by Paul, "Pigboy and the Pope" by Tito Hoffmann, and "Ben" by Frenzer, illustrations by Brie, event notices, and other announcements.
