Curatorial Statement: This exhibit brings together work made over the past three years by current students, recent alums, and alumni that are now our faculty. The work is made through a range of traditional, digital, and hybrid means. Some pieces exist or are made to exist in printed media, while others are destined for a virtual environment. Some adopt three-dimensional or time-based forms because of the unique potential of those formats to transmit an idea. Whether elegant or bold, singular or sequential, the work was selected because we felt it helped to showcase the near endless approaches students investigate in RISD's Illustration Department.
