Interview of Sidney (Bud) Greenwald conducted by Louis A. Fazzano from the President's home in Providence, RI on April 18, 2000. Greenwald speaks of how he first became involved with RISD and became a member of the Board of Trustees along with other committees at the institution. Greenwald also recalls how the school changed while under different presidents including Talbot Rantoul, Lee Hall, and Thomas F. Schutte. Along with this, Greenwald discusses his interest in technology and his and Barbara Greenwald's art collection.

Biographical/Historical Note

Sidney (Bud) Greenwald (1921-2016) was a businessman and sailor who served as chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Rhode Island School of Design between 1985-1989 and again from 1992-1995. In 1994 he received the President's Medal for Outstanding Service; in 1995, the Alumni Association Distinguished Service Award; and was an Honorary Degree recipient at the 2000 commencement.

Greenwald is interviewed by Louis A. Fazzano (1921-2019), a trustee at RISD beginning in 1977 before he became an honorary trustee in 1998. Fazzano served as interim president of the school between 1992-1993. The interview takes place on April 18, 2000 at the President's home in Providence, RI. In this interview, he reminisces about the history of RISD during his tenure. Directed by Frank Muhly.
