Description

Architect and former RISD Professor Friedrich St. Florian offers a behind the scenes discussion of the development of his proposal for the National World War Two Memorial located in Washington D.C. He describes the history of the site on the Mall and previous master plans, particularly the McMillan Plan. St. Florian begins the lecture with a discussion of modernism and American architecture iconography using the statues in front of the federal building in Providence, RI.
