Curatorial Statement: Keeping in mind that a printmaker is an artist who also has the skills to print images that she/he creates, the current 2018 Printmaking Department Triennial Exhibition hosts printed work from our best, brightest and most skilled students from the past three years to the present.
The images included in this exhibition generate a tremendous amount of inspiration and excitement when ancient to medieval technical elemets and/or experimental and contemporary applications remain visually exclusive or merge. The Department is committed to stimulating experimentation, supporting the inherent idiosyncrasies in each individual's imagery and fostering the mastery of the many diverse technical applications intrinsic in the printmaking discipline.
Thus, the 2018 Printmaking Triennial Exhibition highlights the role of prints in today's world, acknowledging that the prints we create today transmit ideas about where we come from, who we are and what our future might be.
