xx, 596 pages color frontispiece, illustrations, color plates. Curated title for Fleet Library Special Collections book cover exhibition Bound to Please, fall 2022. "With five hundred illustrations in black and white, and forty-eight plates in color drawn from nature by the author." Publisher should be G. P. Putnam's Sons. Includes index. Decorated publisher's binding. Title lettering and cover design by Margaret Armstrong, emboss in gold on red cloth, light-orange on edges. "Eighth printing, August 1926" Armstrong was one of the first women to descend to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. She is credited with discovering new flower species there.
