Academic Affairs is pleased to present an archive of annual Sabbatical Dialogues and Professorial Presentations in this collection.

Professorial Presentations celebrate the work and share the expertise of our newly-minted full Professors. The highest academic rank, a Professorship attests to a record of leadership, innovation, and research in a particular field or discipline, in addition to consistent excellence in teaching and contributions to the vibrancy of our academic community. Featuring an overview of completed work and/or current research, the series intends to showcase the range of our faculty’s expertise and its impact on our broader communities.

Sabbatical presentations provide a forum for faculty returning from sabbatical leave to share discoveries, insights, and new work with the community. We invite you to attend informal presentations and learn more about the ways our faculty are exploring their fields and creating new knowledge.

Presentations happen yearly in the spring semester and are set up as dialogues with two faculty members presenting in succession, followed by a period for discussion and questions. These dialogues are open to all within the RISD community - faculty, staff, and students - to learn about faculty interests and work.
