Speakers
Yuriko Saito, born and raised in Japan, received her Ph. D. in philosophy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is professor of philosophy at RISD. Her work in everyday aesthetics, Japanese aesthetics, and environmental aesthetics have appeared in various academic journals, anthologies, and encyclopedias, some of which in Finnish, Polish, and Portuguese. Her Everyday Aesthetics was published by Oxford University Press (2008, paperback edition 2010). She serves as Associate Editor of Contemporary Aesthetics, Editorial Consultant for British Journal of Aesthetics, Editorial Advisory Board member for Environmental Ethics, and Consultant for “Artification and Its Impact on Art” Project (funded by the Finnish government). Michael Kelly is Professor of Philosophy at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte; Editor-in-Chief of the Encyclopedia of Aesthetics (Oxford UP, 2014, 2nd edition); and Founder of the Transdisciplinary Aesthetics Foundation.
