Description

The yeast ring is a wooden tool used in traditional Scandinavian farmhouse brewing. It’s circular structure is the result of identical modules with rotational, but not reflection symmetry. The piece was given to Loeb by M.C. Escher and is described in “Natural Structure in the Man-Made Environment.”
