What is a book? In partnership with RISD Special Collections, this exhibition investigates the complex boundaries of the modern book. Where do we draw the line between a book and not a book? By showcasing unconventional works from the Fleet Library, we invite viewers to examine the way a book’s material, size, format, and form influence how we read and process information. From pop-up books to sculptural objects, This is a Book? challenges traditional definitions and dissects how these radical forms communicate information in ways their standard counterparts cannot.M/p>
