Description
Be Water 2023, Handmade Paper, Embedded Mirror, 9.5"x 21". Beca Piascik is a young artist on a journey exploring the limitless potential to create through hand papermaking. She concentrates her energies developing new techniques to create works of art far afield of familiar “paper products.” Her evolving body of work may be viewed generally as sculptural, although much of it reaches beyond sculpture’s normal boundaries. Beca earned her BFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University in Boston, MA (SMFA@Tufts) in May 2020. Beca lives in Southern California, and her practice is growing in Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara Counties.
