Invisibilia | An Installation by Felipe Shibuya
When bacteria multiply, they synthesize pigments, establishing a visual connection with other species, including human beings. In "Invisibilia, Felipe Shibuya offers viewers the chance to see 16 species of bacteria in their natural color states. As both an artist and ecologist, Shibuya opens up different avenues for viewing, depicting often unseen underlying structures which form entire ecosystems, and create opportunities to learn from these structures to build more sustainable futures.
Invisibilia is an installation by faculty member Felipe Shibuya, a Critic in the Experimental & Foundation Studies department.
