Description

2 dimensional flexagons and corresponding loose plates, enclosed in a four sided, cloth covered shaped portfolio. A tribute to the life and work of Hendrik Nicholaas Werkman, noted Dutch artist, typographer and printer. As Werkman playfully used text and letter forms as image, the flexagons revolve to reconfigure each composition. Werkman was arrested and executed by the Gestapo for his underground publications in 1945 during Nazi occupation of the Netherlands.
