Interview of Barbara (Bunny) Harvey, conducted by Andrew Martinez at Harvey's studio in Providence, RI on May 16, 2008 for European Honors Program (EHP) documentation. Harvey speaks of her time in Rome through the EHP and the Rome Prize at the American Academy at Rome, and how these experiences have influenced her work as a painter. Harvey also recalls how the EHP program and Rome have changed over the years. Along with this, Harvey discusses different people she has met through the EHP and RISD, such as Jack Massey and Harold (Doc) Humes.

Biographical/Historical Note

Barbara (Bunny) Harvey is a painter who attended the Rhode Island School of Design from 1967-1972 where she received a BFA in Painting, MAT and MFA in Painting before teaching in the Providence Public School System. Harvey taught both Drawing and Painting at RISD and received the Rome Prize in Painting, a two-year fellowship at the American Academy in Rome.

Harvey is interviewed by Andrew Martinez, Archivist at the Rhode Island School of Design, in 2007 for a documentary on RISD’s European Honors Program. Produced by Peter O'Neill and Andrew Martinez.
