Description
Muffin was a newsletter produced in the early aughts by RISD’s Queer Student Union as a student guide to queer culture. The January 2006 issue is the first since the February-March issue from 2004. It was revived by the Straight and Gay Alliance and features a "gay timeline," articles on freshman lesbians, female pirates Anne Bonny and Mary "Mark" Read, lesbians who look straight, why straight people are needed in RISD's Straight and Gay Alliance, a Jewish student's struggle to reconcile his homosexuality with his faith, and cheap and corny date ideas, along with a book review of "Women's Barracks" by Tereska Torres, a short story "An Encounter" and a poem by Ben Rubinstein, Mad Libs, a list of gay bars, and a list of queer resources.
