Description
In collaboration with RISD Senior Sculpture Students, a plant parade conceived by Peruvian artist and RISD Alumni Lucia Monge. Film by Anais Blondet, field recording Brian House. Music by Brandon Seabrook, sound by Brian House, and song Missents by Shawn Greenlee.
'Plantón' is the word in Spanish for a sapling. It is also the word for a sit-in. This project takes on both: the green to be planted and the peaceful protest. This project is about giving the plants and trees the opportunity to walk down the streets of their city, like a small forest peacefully reclaiming its place and respect. Plantón Móvil is a simple yet powerful gesture meant to heighten awareness of a beautiful and essential form of life that many people take for granted. It emphasizes our relationship as humans to the rest of the living, breathing planet. - Lucia Monge
